I'm teaching a VIRTUAL memoir class for adults (5 sessions) for the Marlene Meyerson JCC. It begins on Tuesday, December 12 and runs until January 16 (except for 12/26) from 6:00pm - 7:30pm (EST).
If you'd like to write some of your life stories for yourself or your family, join me for a variety of writing exercises, music, and prompts that will get you started. In each class, will write first drafts and receive ideas of how to take your writing further, should you wish. There's no pressure in the class; the class is a gift of time for yourself to enjoy writing. No experience is needed, just the willingness to put the pen or pencil to paper or to use your keyboard.
Here's what one of my students wrote about the class:
I didn’t know if I had a story to tell and, if I did, if I could craft a narrative compelling enough for anyone to want to read it. Luckily for me, I found Janet's A Memoir-Writing Workshop. The class is a beautiful gift of transformation, and I saw personal reflections and scribblings about life blossom into readable prose. If you have even the slightest interest in creative writing, I highly recommend this class.
